ELSAandME is committed to doing business responsibly; conducting itself in ways that earn the trust and respect of customers, partners, and planet earth. Acting in an ethical way is not only the right thing to do; it also unlocks new ways, new innovations on how to do business better. ELSAandME represents the new generation companies fully incorporating social entrepeneurship - on how to take responsibility for its actions.
ELSAandME is devoted to using sustainable material and production methods. This is executed to the fullest extent possible. Some considerations may be made during the start-up period due to limited capital, knowledge and research base. As ELSAandME grows and expands, increasingly rigorous measures will be applied to ensure that future collections will abide by the most stringent and trustworthy organic standards available.
The ELSAandME dress pant is made from SKAL and GOTS certified fabric. SKAL is a certification which tests and verifies international organic farming standards. GOTS is a world recognized certification that guarantees the textile processing as being organic and socially responsible from the harvesting of the raw materials, through manufacturing up to the labeling of a finalized product.
The ELSAandME dress pant will use dyes that do not contain metal irons and that do not require large amounts of rinsing. The first collection available from ELSAandME will use a low impact dyeing process, although it is not certified that it is the following the Oeko-Tex standard 100. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a dyeing certification that exists in Europe, and it will be met from the second collection of ELSAandME and forward whole-heartedly.
Production is made locally with care in the New Tork Garment District, ensuring the control of fair labor relations.
