Sustainability

“At ELSA AND ME we believe it is a common mistake among human beings to try to get comfortable and to try to avoid struggle and failure. We do not believe there is a final stage or method of success; we believe struggle and failure are part of our continuous development, change and progress in finding the most creative ways of delivering the world’s most quality-driven, and socially and environmentally conscious product.”

This is how we do that right now:
- provide clothing designs that are not dependent on short term trends or a specific season, and that use a limited amount of trims
- provide clothing that to the extent possible is made by sustainable, eco-friendly, and organic clothing materials following the stringent organic certifications  SKAL and GOTS
- produce our clothing locally in The New York City Garment District with fair wages and treatment of workers
- re-use shoe-boxes gathered from local retailers for packaging and shipping
- to the extent possible use recycled paper products or other sustainable materials for labeling and marketing
